After a recent unannounced BRCGS audit at our factory, we are delighted to announce that Tinplate Products have been awarded a BRCGS AA+ accreditation, the highest global standard for food safety. We take tremendous pride and care in the products and services we offer to our customers, and to obtain this certification has given credit to the hard work and dedication we put in every day.
What is BRCGS and why is it so important?
BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) is a leading global brand and consumer protection organisation that sets standards for food safety, packaging, storage, and distribution.
BRCGS certification helps food manufacturers and suppliers demonstrate their commitment to producing safe and high-quality products.
This accreditation underscores its compliance with GFSI’s rigorous benchmark criteria. Functioning as a comprehensive quality management framework, the standard encompasses both food safety and quality prerequisites, essential for certification by food manufacturers.
How does the grading system work?
BRCGS grades go from AA + (best) to, A, B, C, D or Uncertified (fail). The grade you get depends on the number and type of non-conformances that are raised in the audit carried out by the certification body.
Tinplate have achieved AA+, which means we had no more than five minors. We consistently ensure that we adhere to the highest certification standards and specifications. Through an unannounced audit, we have displayed that we are not just ‘audit ready’, to a specific date; however, we are implementing these stringent and thorough practices in the day-to-day operations of our business.
